A warm welcome to this teensy slice of the internet pie.
So, what’s this all about?

Why? Read on, my friend.

Narrative

A spoken or written account of
connected events. A story.
Our life.

Narratives. They’re told to us. About us. By us.

They’re all around us. Woven into our nature and nurture. Lived through our daily encounters. They shape how we experience ourselves, our world, and our God.

Narratives are powerful.

Some form us with goodness and beauty. While others (de)form us through suffering and pain. For most of us, the latter takes the lead and the roots run destructively deep.

While much of this life is beyond our control—our narratives are not.

This is where Joy comes in.

Because of Jesus, we have infinite access to mind-feeding, heart-lifting, soul-breathing Joy. The kind of Joy that transforms our narratives—and our lives.

Let’s enter in together.
Exchanging our broken narratives for His.
Experiencing transformation through the fullness of His Joy.

In Your presence is the fullness of Joy.
— Psalm 16:11

Weaver of words and lover of Joy

As a kid, I found joy gallivanting through the woods of Colorado pretending to be Indiana Jones and/or Robin Hood, collecting copious amounts of stickers, and making one too many mixtapes.

Nowadays, you can find me in the great State of Texas. Praying, laughing, crying, and fist-pumping my way through the Golden Moon Saga at my kitchen table and favorite coffee shop. And on occasion—mixing in a little vocal joy.

My brain feasts on a variety of literary goodness. From Scripture and theology to fantasy and most-ologies. Topped off with a bit of old-timey lit, some Camelot-Sherwood-Sherlock, and everything by C.S. Lewis ever.

I have two kiddos and two kitties. One blended family with lotsa brothers—and one massive, beautiful family of imperfect people loved by a massively beautiful and perfect God.

LOADS OF JOY

Here are some of my favoritest joys:

 (in a nearly random order)

Words

I love me some words!

Reading them.
Studying them.
Geeking out on them.

And weaving them together for the sake of Joy.

People

The incredible people I encounter every day. Especially those I get to do life with.

You know how much I love/fangirl you.

Excessively.

Prayer

Entering into the fullness of His presence.

Anytime from anywhere.

A precious and powerful gift bought for us by an even more precious and powerful Jesus.

Beauty

Anything that reflects the beauty of the human experience
and the wonderfully excessive, mind-blowing glory of God.

Hilarity

Random voices in regular conversation, well-timed puns, jokes so terrible they’re wonderful, and unsolicited googly-eye merchandise enhancement.

Ball Pit

Chilling in my ball pit whilst sniping rubber duckies with a fully-loaded nerf gun.

Yes, this actually happens.
Yes, I highly recommend it.

Ultimate Joy

Finally, my greatest Joy of all. Which came through the absolute worst and unexpectedly best day of my life.
